Unsafe Word, Part 3

Safe and Unsafe

She found her forearm shielding her vision, and not for the first time found herself wishing she had her sunlenses on to watch this: red lasers crisscrossing the space before her, their crimson light burning against the blue of the silhouette as they systematically traced their many beams across and through it, layer upon molecular layer of the blue pillar solidifying into red light then cooling into pale red flesh.

It was almost halfway done already, all while disappointment and lingering anticipation fought for control in Merida’s chest. And most disappointing of all, the damn CompileCo disclaimers where still coming! The latest read: "All CompileCo TM-series models have been neuroprogrammed to response to - "tap, yes she knew, safe words, this wasn’t her first rodeo "- But this model also -" don’t care, "- Only for the most experienced -" yawn "- Some tests have shown - Under no circumstances -" oh my gods go away already, Merida tapping the annoying message over and over until once again she found herself on a screen that refused to leave. And this time there wasn’t even a ‘Yes’ ‘No’ to press, nothing just six words she absolutely could not get rid of no matter what she did.

Fuming, her eyes couldn’t help but skim the two lines:

Safe Word: Perseus

Unsafe Word: Pegasus

Out of spite she made a conscious effort to forgot everything she’d just read. And to further prove her mental point, she pressed down on the top of the annoying message, then wiped her finger fast across the glass, sending the annoying panel of text skimming round the plastiglass wall all the way to the far side of the chamber, where it remained glowing faintly blue, ignored and utterly unimportant.

Merida glared back to the centre of the chamber, where the last beams of red lasers criss-crossed together the very last few molecular layers at the top of the tentacle monster, retreating just in time for the word ‘CLEAR’ to appear in bold holographic red caps all around the chamber wall. Reflexively Merida narrowed her eyes, but was still nearly blinded by the sudden arc of white the slammed down from the chamber roof into the tentacle monster, filling her ears with the echoing of thunder and her eyes with a ringing white. She blinked repeatedly, hearing more than seeing the plastiglass door of the chamber sliding aside before her, feeling more than she saw the warm wet steam billowing out past her legs as she stepped in, and the door hissed shut behind her.

As always the steam was warm against her nude and slightly goose-bumped skin, making her calves wet as she slowly moved towards the centre of the room where a hulking shadow was shrouded in the thickest steam, low sounds of squelching and chirruping sounding out towards her. Now the door was shut behind her the thrum of fans sounded below the floor, the steam quickly clearing to reveal the shape before her.

"Is that it?" is all she could say.

It shivered in the middle of the room, three feet of pale red flesh, tapering towards the top, rounded at both ends. The surface glistened slightly in the low light, emitting occasional squelching noises from somewhere unseen, along with a questioning chirruping sound that rippled across the whole shining surface, all of which added to the disgusting disappointment of the shape. "Is that it?!" Merida demanded again.

"Chirrup?" - the disappointment responded.

"... Wait, what?"

Then it moved, the squat pillar of flesh lifting itself an inch upwards, its base rounding out into a ring of rounded lumps, looking like the base of a pear, or a ring of stubby rounded feet, all of which started to frantically pace on the ground as the whole structure turned to face Merida. How she thought it was ‘facing’ her without a face, she wasn’t sure, but but somehow she was certain it was facing her as it lowered itself back down onto the ground, its base smoothing out again as it sucked itself inwards with a slight hiss, the rest of its squat body nuzzling into its new position as it base sealed to the ground with a slight 'pop.'

"Chirrup," the disappointment announced, as if pleased with itself.

Well at least it looked... secure - Merida’s mind trying to find a positive - so she wouldn’t, fall off? Seriously, what was she meant to do now - mount it, jump it? It didn’t even have any tentacles - what kind of a... She was stopped in her thoughts as she saw movement on the creature’s surface, the featureless side facing her was no longer featureless, a wide lump about an inch across, bulging outwards and unfurling, extending in an almost liquid way from the flat surface into a long, reaching tentacle of pale red flash. The end bulged slightly, looking kind of like the head of a snake but far too round, the end tapering to a point that flared out into a tightly sealed ring of tightly compressed lips, holding back - what exactly? The creature’s eye? Something remotely interesting?

It was fully elongated now, nearly a meter of thick tendril, its bulbed end swaying slightly back and forth across her direction, as if trying to... see her?

"What -" she began.

The tendril instantly snapped to attention, it’s bulbous end fixed staring straight at her face now. Merida stayed motionless, staring back at the eyeless tentacle staring at her, its length tensed back, its head waiting.

After a long pause, she continued. "What are -" was all she managed.

As soon as she spoke the tentacle adjusted its aim slightly down, tensed, and squirted a short jet of pink liquid straight out of its end. But all these details Merida realised after the fact, because what quite literally struck her first was the jet of liquid, the rich sweetness and sheer force both hitting the back of her throat with equal effect.

What followed was a very busy few seconds of coughing, swearing, more coughing and much more swearing, all culminating in:

"What the fuck -" she managed between coughs.

"Chirrup?"

"You little shit -" cough "- what did -" cough.

"Chirrup."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST..." followed by long silence.

Merida stared straight ahead, seeing nothing as her entire focus was consumed by feeling the answer, very specifically and very clearly even before the creature answered with a definitive:

"Chirrup."

What she felt was herself getting unbelievably horny!
